01 - Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round or square cake pan.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, whisk together mashed bananas, vegetable oil or melted butter, eggs, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until well blended.
03 - In a separate bowl, sift together all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
04 - Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined—do not overmix.
05 - Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving a small handful to sprinkle on top.
06 - Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and evenly sprinkle reserved chocolate chips over the surface.
07 - Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs.
08 - Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice before serving.
