Lavender Lemonade (Printable)

Refreshing floral lemonade with tart citrus and aromatic lavender syrup.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Lavender Syrup

01 - 1 cup water
02 - 1 cup granulated sugar
03 - 2 tablespoons dried culinary lavender

→ Lemonade Base

04 - 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
05 - 4 cups cold water
06 - Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)
07 - Lavender sprigs, for garnish (optional)
08 - Ice cubes

# Directions:

01 - Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar completely dissolves. Remove from heat, stir in dried lavender, and let steep for 15 minutes to infuse flavors.
02 - Pour the lavender mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove all lavender buds. Transfer the strained syrup to a heat-safe container and allow it to cool completely before using.
03 - In a large pitcher, whisk together the fresh lemon juice, cooled lavender syrup, and cold water until fully combined. The mixture should have a pale pink hue from the lavender infusion.
04 - Sample the lemonade and modify the balance as needed. Add more water for a lighter flavor, extra syrup for increased sweetness, or additional lemon juice for more tartness.
05 - Fill the pitcher with ice cubes. Pour over ice in individual glasses and garnish with fresh lemon slices and lavender sprigs if desired. Serve immediately while chilled.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The floral notes hit you gently first then the lemon brightens everything like sunshine
  • People literally stop mid conversation when they taste it because its unexpected but familiar somehow
02 -
  • Over steeping the lavender makes it taste like soap so stick to 15 minutes max
  • The syrup keeps in the fridge for a week so you can make it ahead of time
03 -
  • Start with half the syrup then add more gradually you can always add more but you cannot take it back
  • If the lavender flavor is too subtle add another teaspoon of dried lavender while the syrup is still hot and strain again
