01 - Squeeze fresh lemons using a citrus press or reamer to extract approximately 1 cup of juice. Strain out seeds and pulp if desired.
02 - In a large pitcher, combine fresh lemon juice with sugar. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until sugar completely dissolves.
03 - Pour cold water into the pitcher. Mix thoroughly to ensure even distribution of sweetener throughout.
04 - Add ice cubes to chill. Taste the lemonade and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar if needed, or dilute with additional water if too strong.
05 - Pour into glasses over ice. Garnish with fresh lemon rounds and mint leaves if desired. Serve immediately.
